Pumpkin Spice season is back at Starbucks just in case you haven’t heard!  I’m going to be drinking as many pumpkin cold brews as I can in the next month and trying the new Apple Crisp Macchiatos.  You do not need to go out and buy a can of pumpkin puree to make your own pumpkin spice syrup. All you need is the pumpkin spice seasoning, sugar, and water. Water and sugar are the two basic ingredients to make simple syrup at home. After that, you can add whatever seasonings or flavors you like to it. Store the syrups in mason jars or bottles. Add this syrup to your lattes in the morning!

What Ingredients do I need?

In this section, you can find substitutes or suggestions for certain ingredients. I also will try and list out what the ingredients’ purpose is for.  Sugar - can sub brown or use maple syrup  Pumpkin Pie Seasoning  - make your own or use store-bought

How to make Pumpkin Spice Syrup

To print the full recipe please see the recipe card below.  In a medium saucepan combine sugar, water, and pumpkin pie spice. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved.  10 to 15 minutes.  The syrup is ready when it has reduced down and it sticks to the back of a spoon. Allow to cool to in glass bowl.  Makes about 2 cups of syrup.
