Ninja Foodi Bacon
Right now, as I type this, I urgently want a spare cooking pot for my Ninja Foodi. I love cooking from leftovers and would love an extra pot. That way leftovers can be in the fridge while we have another meal on the go. To my surprise its 100% out of stock with no hope of it going back into stock soon. Along the way, we got side tracked and came across some reviews for the Ninja Foodi. It was nice to see what other people were doing that had just got a Ninja Foodi and a picture of bacon grabbed my attention. What they did was cook bacon in the Ninja Foodi with the bacon hanging down from the trivet. It looked fun and that same day, the hubby and I got some bacon out of the freezer and made bacon butties.
Can You Cook Bacon In A Ninja Foodi?
Yes you can. One of the best uses of the air fryer is air fryer bacon and with the Ninja Foodi having its own air fryer, it makes it ideal. You could load slices of bacon into the air fryer crisp basket and then let the air fryer create yummy crispy slices of bacon. Perfect for if you are new to the Ninja Foodi and want an easy recipe to cook first. But there is a better method that will cook more bacon at once, it will be crispier and is much easier.
Ninja Foodi Bacon Rack
If you have not heard of the Ninja Foodi Bacon Rack method, then here is a picture of it in action: In a nutshell you place slices of bacon over the racks so that they are hanging over the trivet. Because of the position they crisp better, and you can hold more bacon compared to one layer in the basket. We are not big bacon eaters, and the above picture was us cooking a single pack of bacon. You could triple up the amount of bacon we cooked if you wanted to.
Frozen Bacon In Ninja Foodi
You can cook any meat in the Ninja Foodi from frozen, but with frozen bacon it is likely to be stuck together. This makes it harder to cook or if you want crispy bacon this just isn’t going to happen. But if you are just using frozen bacon in the Ninja Foodi for a sauce then go ahead and dump it in frozen. Or for a quick defrost load frozen bacon into an ice bath for 5 minutes and it will separate easily.
How To Cook Bacon In Ninja Foodi?
The quick version of cooking bacon in Ninja Foodi goes as follows:
Load bacon slices onto the rack of the trivet.Add Ninja Foodi air fryer lid.Air fry + enjoy.
There is a little more to it than that, but those are the simple basics!
Ninja Foodi Bacon Temp?
The temperature that we recommend for Ninja Foodi bacon is 200c or 400f. This ensures that the bacon is hot enough to crisp but doesn’t over crisp. You can then choose your bacon cook time depending on how you like your bacon. For example, we love our air fryer bacon just crispy and will cook our bacon for 7 minutes. But many of our readers prefer their bacon crispier and go with a 10 minute cook time.
Ninja Foodi Bacon Butties
I grew up in the UK and the UK was not the same without yummy bacon butties. Just cooked bacon would be loaded into sliced fresh bread or bread rolls and served with ketchup. If you are a Ninja Foodi UK user and love a British bacon butty then this Ninja Foodi bacon recipe is ideal for you.
