Ingredients

1 cup Butter salted - room temperature (do not microwave)

2/3 cup Sugar

3 pieces Egg yolks

2 ounces Unsweetened chocolate

1-1/2 teaspoons Vanilla

1/2 teaspoon Baking powder

2-1/2 cups All-purpose flour (sifted)

Preparation

Cream butter, add sugar and slightly beaten egg yolk and colouring (if desired).

Stir in melted, cooled chocolate and vanilla.

Sift together dry ingredients and add to the bowl.

Form cookies with press on uncreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

NOTE: this dough is a fine basic Spritz, if chocolate is eliminated. Add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract to light dough in place of 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Form and bake as directed

Note: if using thin cookie pans - 8 min only. DON’T CHILL DOUGH.
