Ingredients
1/4 pound Butter
1 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1 cup Sour cream
1 cup Walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup Sugar
1 tablespoon Cinnamon
Preparation
Cream butter and sugar together; with mixer running, add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and mix well.
Sift together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Add sour cream and beat well. (Batter will be very stiff.)
Place 1/2 batter in a greased tin, then 1/2 the topping; repeat. Marlene says to push the nuts into the top of the batter a bit to make it more flavorful.
Bake in a 325 oven for one hour. Cool on rack.
Note: This is good eaten slightly warm, but it also keeps well. Marlene also says you can divide the batter and topping in thirds to make it even more flavorful, but I have found the batter too thick to be able to spread those small amounts well.
