My first experience of pasta with feta cheese, was a thing long before it became a TikTok sensation. It was at my favourite Italian buffet. It faces onto the seafront of what is considered Portugal’s best beach and has a bit of everything for the Italian foodie. A buffet area with hot food such as lasagne, garlic spinach, mushrooms, meatballs etc. Then there are two areas with cold pasta salads and pizza slices delivered to your table. I always find myself getting too full too quick due to all the carbs, but it is delicious. On the pasta salad table there are a lot of delicious pastas that are seasoned with feta and other yummy cheeses. I would always go for seconds of the feta pasta as it was so yummy. I am sure you are wondering what This TikTok tomato and feta pasta is, especially if you are not a regular on the TikTok social media platform. The idea behind the recipe is that you oven bake cherry tomatoes in extra virgin olive oil with a block of feta cheese. Then once cooked you break up the feta and the feta will become your cheese sauce. You can also add in extra seasonings, extra chicken or turkey you have in and mix in just cooked pasta. It is delicious and just like a typical feta cheese pasta dish that you will find on the Mediterranean.

In fact, what I did was cook the pasta and the feta at the same time. That way you don’t have to worry about using one dish for your feta and tomatoes and then another for your pasta. I also did one version that had a bigger feta portion than pasta and vice versa and then you can decide how you prefer it. Also, by keeping it oil free it is ideal for me if you are on a diet and want to watch your oil calories.

I am sure you are wondering how to use feta cheese in pasta. Well, the usual way is to crumble up some feta cheese and serve it over your pasta. But when you cook baked feta cheese, it has a wonderful creamy texture to it. A bit like when you cook our air fryer baked brie. Then once you have cooked your baked feta cheese, you can stir it into your dish. It also doesn’t have to be like we are doing today, you can use it in all kinds of delicious pasta dishes.
