December is the month of sweet treats! I love baking this time of year and it’s so hard to not eat all the great stuff out right now like Little Debbie Christmas Trees, Reese’s Christmas Trees, and Peppermint flavored everything. For the month of December, I plan on sharing a sweet recipe each week along with something healthy and maybe a few vegetarian meals thrown into the mix. Been trying to eat more fiber and vegetables in my diet. If you don’t have time to make those gorgeous Hot Chocolate Bombs this year this hot chocolate dip takes no time to make at all and it’s ready in just 3 minutes. It’s pretty much hot chocolate in a dip form.  When I went looking for the marshmallow bits I found the mini ones in a stand-up ziplock bag so that marshmallows can stay fresh for longer. Man how times are changing and it’s about time companies do that!

Tips for Hot Chocolate Dip

You can change up the flavor of this dip by adding in some caramel, peppermint, or any type of flavoring you like. Make the dip taste like your favorite flavor of mocha that you get at the coffee shop.  This dip can be made ahead of time. Make the dip and place some saran wrap over it so it can sit in the fridge. Before serving add the mini marshmallows and sprinkles.

What Ingredients do I need?

In this section, you can find substitutes or suggestions for certain ingredients. I also will try and list out what the ingredients’ purpose is for.  Hot Cocoa Mix - I used Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Cocoa Mix but any type of hot chocolate dry mix will work.  Heavy Cream  - whipped or just use ½ cup more of Cool Whip  Marshmallow Fluff  - such as Jet Puffed Marshmallow Creme from Kraft Cool Whip - frozen whipped topping found in the freezer section  Toppings - festive colored red and green sprinkles and mini marshmallows  Dippers - any favorite cookie, pretzels, graham cracker, or any type of fruit you like such as strawberries
