Ingredients
1/4 cup Margarine
1/2 cup Crisco or vegetable shortening
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1 cup Dark brown sugar
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
2.75 cup White flour
1 tablespoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking soda
12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate bits (mini chips)
8 ounces (Optional) grounded walnuts
Preparation
Sift the flour, baking soda and salt together in a medium sized bowl.
In a mixing bowl, beat margarine, shortening together. Add white and dark brown sugar and beat again until well combined.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Slowly beat in flour mixture, dough will become stiff. Mix in chocolate bits.
Pre-heat the over to 350. Grease two cookies sheets with crisco or margarine.
Use a teaspoon and your greased finger to dollop dough onto the cookie sheet. They should be approximately 1 - 1.5 inches in diameter. Fill up the cookie sheet, typically 25 - 35 per sheet depending on the size of the sheet.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, rotating the sheets from the bottom to the top of the rack and turning 180 degrees in order to keep baking of all cookies even.
Let cookies cool for a minute or two and then place on cooling racks until fully cool.
