Ingredients
5 tablespoons Butter, unsalted
4 tablespoons All purpose flour
2 cups Milk, whole
2 teaspoons Salt
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg, fresh grated
2 cups Heavy cream
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 Sage leaves
Preparation
Bruise the sage leaves by hitting it with an object and put aside.
In a medium saucepan, heat the butter ove midium low heat until melted.
Add the the sage leaves, flour and cook until the flour mixtures turns light, golden color.
Heat the milk heavy cream, salt, nutmeg and sugar in a separate pan until it’s just about to boil.
Add the hot milk mixture one cup at a time, whisking continuously until very smooth and cook for 10 minutes
Remove from heat and use in choice of preffernce.
