Who says you can’t have a baked chocolate donut while you’re on a weight-loss journey? If you hear that kind of negativity please stop talking to that person immediately! My chocolate donuts are 6 points each, they are baked in the oven in a donut pan, have a lot less sugar than a regular donut, Plus, not to mention, these chocolate donuts get topped with chocolate frosting and colorful sprinkles. Who doesn’t get happy when they have a cake with sprinkles on top of it? If you get a regular chocolate donut at the grocery store bakery or any type of bakery in general, they will range in points from 11 to 15. Maybe even higher depending on what toppings are on them. Yikes!

Donuts Vs Doughnuts?

I’m also curious how you spell donuts? There are two ways to spell this: donuts and doughnuts. Let me know in the comments below. Whenever I go to write a donut post I’m not sure which spelling I should use but I prefer donut because it’s quicker to write and that is how my favorite donut shop in town here spells it.

Can I eat donuts on Weight Watchers?

I have been on my weight loss journey since June and I’ve lost 9.6 pounds so far and I’m finally below 160. My goal weight is to be in a healthy BMI range of 24.9. That is 145 pounds. Weight loss is definitely a slow journey and my weight loss is incredibly slow but you know what I’m ok with that now. I know a lot of people get discouraged when the scale doesn’t move the way they want it to but hey that is the way weight loss is supposed to be! Don’t give up. I know this time I’m not going to give up.

Ingredients Needed

1 cup self rising flour ¼ cup of cocoa powder¼ teaspoon salt ½ cup of unsweetened almond milk 6 tablespoons of brown sugar 1 egg 2 tablespoons of light melted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla

Glaze

6 tablespoons of powdered sugar 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder½ teaspoon vanilla 2 tablespoons of milk 2 tablespoons of colorful sprinkles

How to make Baked Chocolate Donuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl whisk together the self-rising flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set Aside. Melt the butter in a glass bowl in the microwave. In another bowl whisk together the wet ingredients: almond milk, brown sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Pour the wet ingredients on top of the dry ingredients and whisk until well combined. Spray your donut pan with cooking spray. Drop 2 tablespoons of batter into the donut pan holes. Use a spoon or your fingers to make sure the batter is completely surrounded in the donut pan hole. Place in the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Take the baked chocolate donuts out of the pan and let them cool on a wire rack. While the chocolate donuts are baking, make the glaze. Whisk the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and milk in a bowl until well combined. Dunk each donut into the chocolate glaze and top with colorful sprinkles.

Toppings for Baked Chocolate Donuts

There are so many different toppings you can add to your donuts that are WW friendly and won’t break the points bank. Go ahead and have fun with the toppings.

If properly stored these donuts will last in an airtight for a container for 2 to 3 days. If you wish to freeze these donuts you can. Just let them cool completely before sticking them in an airtight container or freezer bag.
