Ingredients

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1 cup applesauce

2 eggs

1/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 cup raisins (optional)

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup flour

1/4 cup butter

Preparation

Beat eggs. Combine oats, applesauce, and eggs in mixing bowl to let oats soak.

Sift 1 cup flour with baking powder, soda, salt, and spices.

Add 1/3 c. sugar and oil into oats and beat to blend.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x9 inch pan (or 9x13 for double recipe).

In a second bowl, cut together the brown sugar, 1/2 c. flour, and butter for streusel.

Spread batter in greased pan. Sprinkle with streusel.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (50 minutes for double recipe.)
