We always make sure we have a good stash of frozen sausage links in the freezer ready for the air fryer. We batch them into freezer bags with 8 medium sized sausage links in each. They then go in our large chest freezer and we use them whenever have a craving for sausage links, or when we can’t be bothered to cook. After all, frozen sausage links are perfect for loading into the air fryer for lazy comfort food days. Or we have a teenage boy use for them. Our son who has recently turned 18, is the typical messy teenager. Leave him alone with our kitchen gadgets and they need a deep clean treatment. Or then there is all the washing up that you see when you get home. But one of his favourite foods in the air fryer, as well as a food that he doesn’t fill the kitchen with washing up, is air fryer frozen sausages. He can grab a freezer bag of frozen sausage links, cook them in the air fryer with some air fryer fries and he has lunch. Then when we get home, we know that we still have a clean kitchen! When we left him housesitting last summer for a week, it was his favourite go to quick snack. He was on work experience so got his main meal at work and it was ideal for him. But I love air fryer frozen sausage links for when I am cooking last minute and want something fast.

In an ideal world, it is easier to cook your air fryer sausage from thawed rather than frozen. This is because it takes less cooking time and you can just dump the sausages in the air fryer and come back when they are cooked. The difference with frozen, is that you need to cook them for longer and at 2 different temperatures. For example, you start cooking your frozen sausages at a low heat and then process to a medium heat. BUT they both taste the same and you really can’t tell that one lot of your air fryer sausage links was cooked from thawed and one lot from frozen. Or another method comes about when your sausages are stuck together. Imagine getting them out of the freezer bag and they are like this: You could keep rinsing them under a tap or bang them for a while with a knife. But there is another way. That is to cook them stuck together first and then before you increase the temperature you open the air fryer and they break up in your hands naturally. To do this I will start the air fryer frozen sausages at 160c for 6 minutes, break them up and then finish cooking at a medium heat. It works every time!

Sausage Cook Time & Temperature?
For my air fryer frozen sausages cook time I cook them for a total of 12 minutes.
The first 6 minutes are at 160cThe last 6 minutes are at 180c
This makes sure that the sausages are piping hot in the middle and lovely and crispy on the outside. In other words, PERFECT air fryer sausage links! When I was growing up my dad would get drunk and forget about the sausages on the barbecue and I was horrified as a picky teen to eat sausages with black bits on them. However, air fryer sausages are a perfect shade of brown.

It is so easy to air fry frozen sausage links. It is one of those blink and you will miss it moments.
Place your frozen air fryer sausages into the air fryer basket.Cook on a low heat to start the defrosting process.When it beeps increase the heat to medium and cook for the same time again.That’s it you’re DONE.
You can also add in other favourite frozen meats such as air fryer crispy bacon, or some other favourite air fryer frozen food.
