French Toast Sticks are super easy to make at home and are a fun finger food any age will love! Top them with some fresh cut up berries and dip them in maple syrup. 4 points for 4 sticks (all 3 plans) Back when I worked at the dining center as a prep cook, I learned how to make some really good French toast. The dining center was my job back when I was in college and I’d do everything. From serving, to working the grill, and to helping the cooks prepare the meals for the next day. That job was pretty awesome and fun, and I met a lot of cool people there. This grill was so huge, I’d be flipping like 50 pieces of French toast at a time. This recipe has been updated for the air fryer. 10/20/21
What makes a good French Toast?
One of the key factors is the bread. When I worked at the dining center, we used Texas Toast. Texas toast is pretty crazy high in points for one slice so I use a Light Italian Bread for these French Toast Sticks. Or any low point bread option will work. To check the points for the bread use the bar code scanner that comes with the WW app on your phone. It’s pretty handy to have at the grocery store. The custard is pretty simple, all it is is milk, eggs, a little vanilla, and cinnamon. Almond milk can be substituted instead of regular milk. You don’t need any sugar for the French Toast either because the maple syrup is sweet enough. (Points for maple syrup will vary) The french toast can be topped with whatever fresh fruit you like. Strawberries and Blackberries are excellent.
How is this a WW recipe?
NO FOOD is off limits on WW and WW themselves stresses that a lot on their social media pages. That is one reason why I love WW. You can pretty much eat ANYTHING to lose weight just as long as you stay in your daily points range for that.
How does Weight Watchers work?
Each recipe or food has a Smart Points value. This is calculated using calories, saturated fat, protein, and sugar. It is best to stay away from foods that are loaded with saturated fat and sugar on the plan because those foods are higher in points. When you register with Weight Watchers you are given a daily set of points to target based on your age, gender, height, and activity level. Think of it as an easier way to track your macros.
Can you lose weight on Weight Watchers?
Yes. you can! I did Points Plus (which is an older WW plan) and lost 20 pounds. I have also lost 12.8 pounds doing Freestyle. Weight loss is a slow and steady progress and a lot of people are discouraged when they do lose weight fast enough. Just remember this as a rule and look for people to follow on social media that will continue to inspire you to lose weight.
